John McCain IS 1980s action cinema

Not only is John McCain's name just one consonant away from "John McClane" of the Die Hard movies, but now FP Passport brings us this tidbit:

The Los Angeles Times reviewed John McCain's record in the Navy and found him to be "a pilot who early in his career was cocky, occasionally cavalier and prone to testing limits."

Sounds an awful lot like Tom Cruise's character from Top Gun. Whose callsign, in case you don't recall, was "Maverick."
