Obama wins debate

Saturday, September 27, 2008

John McCain looked confused and irrelevant for 30 minutes, until they finally switched to foreign policy and he got to spit out the same robotic lines he's been using for years. Obama was clear, succinct, and to-the-point. McCain's weird
facial ticks, and his unwillingness to look Obama in the eye, might be what ends up defining the debate in the eyes of the public. As for Obama, I wish he'd been a little more forceful and bombastic, but I think he did just fine.

The public agrees with me. The CNN and CBS polls both have him winning the debate, especially among crucial "undecided" voters.

I'm hoping this is the beginning of the end for Mad McCain. If it were 2000, he would have been a live one. That was eight years ago, though, and now he's looking like a spent force, mentally and politically. Still, he's 100% Caucasian (twice as white as Obama), so don't count him out just yet.
