Electability Post #1,000,000,000

Kevin Drum looks at some numbers from a very thorough LA Times poll, and finds that Clinton "does at least as well as Obama against every leading Republican."

Even more importantly, Hillary beats McCain by 4, while McCain beats Obama by 1. It appears that Republicans hate Hillary less than they hate Barack.

Meanwhile, Bush speechwriter and self-styled political strategist Michael Gerson writes in
Newsweek:
[T]here is, perhaps, one large American political figure who could cause depressed, fractious Republicans to bind their wounds, downplay their divisions, renew their purpose, and join hands in blissful unity...And that figure is Hillary Clinton.
Looks like the polls tell us that that particular hackneyed Republican talking point is just wishful thinking.

Or, as we used to say at Stanford basketball games: "Scoreboard, b***h!"
