We're oil doomed

Those who enjoy Canadian accents and the Apocalypse will especially like
this lecture by Jeff Rubin, but everyone should listen to it.

Note that the coming of Peak Oil is NOT bad for oil companies (except in that it encourages countries to nationalize their supplies). As oil becomes more and more expensive to extract, oil companies like Exxon and Halliburton and Schlumberger become more and more valuable to the world, because they are the only ones who own the technologies to extract that hard-to-get stuff. They will essentially become export-oriented technology companies instead of import-oriented resource companies. That will be very good for the political economy of the U.S. (although global civilization is still screwed).
