Mary C. Curtis seems to think that the Obama-Spock comparisons making the internet rounds have something to do with the fact that Obama and Spock are both mixed-race, or that Obama's unusual Kenyan/Irish heritage makes him some sort of alien.
Nonsense.
Obama is like Spock because:
1. He's very logical.
2. He (almost) always keeps his cool.
3. He's very smart.
4. He has pointy ears.
5. He has a deep voice.
It may be difficult for non-Trekkies to understand, but Spock is the fan favorite of the original series. He's not an exotic alien - he's a nerd, he's the guy sci-fi fans identify with. He's the protagonist of the show.
