Whose fault was the financial crisis?

Thursday, November 13, 2008

I've always maintained that China, which lent the U.S. a ton of money way too cheaply, was a big culprit in the mega debt crisis that just blew up much of our economy. Also, poor government regulation had something to do with it. And of course, I've always rejected the notion that it was in any way, shape, or form related to government pressure to make loans to minorities; that was just some BS that the McCain campaign needed to put out there.

But in the end, the biggest culprit in the financial crisis was always the financial companies themselves. And since I could never adequately tell the story of what they did, I hereby outsource it to Michael Lewis. Read, learn, and be entertained.
