Obama's "bitter" gaffe

Obama's gaffe about "bitter" Pennsylvania residents turning to "God or guns":

Does it actually indicate anything bad or unworthy about Obama as a candidate for office? No.

Does it indicate that Obama sometimes doesn't watch his rhetoric closely enough, and offends people? Yes.

(As for the comment itself, unimportant though it may be, it's half insult, half nonsense. Is religiosity a sign of bitterness? No. Do guns comfort people in bad economic times? Maybe in terms of crime, but not the way Obama seemed to mean it.)

McCain is known for putting his foot in his mouth, and will do it again. But this is a reminder that Obama has a bit of this tendency as well.
