No, YOUR religion sucks

Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister, is about to release an article in the New York Times magazine asking "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the Devil are brothers?"

Actually, they don't. But Huckabee's question illustrates the fundamental intolerance and backwardness of the Southern Baptist religion as it exists in America today. For all his clear-eyed honesty ("honestiness"?), Huckabee represents a movement that's had an inordinate amount of political power over the past few decades and has used that power to push its religious vision on the country to the exclusion of others. And even though Huckabee probably represents the best of that movement, it's not hard to see the mailed fist behind the velvet glove.
