Bush gets brains?

Here's a post over at FP Passport about the U.S.'s brand new very effective strategy for countering Hugo Chavez's anti-American bombast: Do nothing at all. The brilliance and simplicity of this strategy is almost as breathtaking as the fact that only now, after years and years of Chavez, has the Bush Administration woken up and done the smart thing.

Not only that, but North Korea negotiations appear to be doing better than ever.

So why did Bush spend 3/4 of his time as president utterly failing to enact smart foreign policies? Was it because of the insidious influence of the neo-cons? Has he just learned his lessons the hard way since then?

No way. Bush pursued disastrous foreign policy in order to do the only thing that really matters to him and his advisors - destroy the Democratic party here in America. It's that strategy, even more than the foreign policies, that has backfired.
