The best Weekly Standard article ever written...

...I realize that's not saying much, considering I once called the Standard "the 'If we spend all our time explaining why everything the Bush administration does is the soul and essence of conservative philosophy, we'll get nice high-paying jobs in the Republican machine' magazine".

But this article, by Ross Douthat, is amazing. It talks about how feminism largely succeeded in winning equality for women in America, and how many of the "problems" cited by those who think feminism has failed are either results of feminism's success (men leaving their wives for younger women is partially a consequence of no-fault divorce), or timeless problems (the tension between work and home life).

Basically, the article's point is that American feminism won, as much as it or any movement could be expected to win. This has been my personal belief since I first stepped off the plane into Japan.
