Pessimism and fear are good for you!

Check out this article about Japanese attitudes for the future. The "hopeful" of the men surveyed think that, 10 years from now, they'll be working for the same company and making a little more money, while the "hopeless" expect to be homeless, divorced, and/or sexless. Beating the curve, however, is a small but growing minority of positive, can-do tech entrepreneurs, who predict nothing but riches and fun and success.

Well, Japan, welcome to the real world - a world based on incentives, risk, and uncertainty. If depression and despair are the stick that forces you mindless corporate drones to take your future into your own hands, so be it. Maybe you can take apage from the tech entrepreneurs' book, and face the uncertain future boldly.
